Mohr was also enrolled into the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. Mohr earned the Bachelor of Arts degree from UGA in 1989. She was crowned Miss Columbus in 1985 after having a crown kiss, and beating her competitors. As a result her win, to participate as a contestant in the Miss Georgia Pageant in June of 1985. On the same day, June 22nd, 1985 she won the tournament. Mohr later went on September of 1985 to be a part of Georgia in Miss America 1986, a pageant staged at Atlantic City, New Jersey. Mohr wasn't a Top-10 Finalist for the Miss America title.
